Frequently Asked Questions
What is a “high-needs” baby?
A high-needs baby is not an official diagnosis, but more of a universal way to describe babies with complex emotional, temperamental, and sometimes physical needs. The term high-needs bay typically describe those babies who struggle with reflux, colic, feeding issues, sleep issues, a sensitive temperament, trouble relaxing, and/or trouble developing a routine. Truthfully, in my opinion and my practice, a high-needs baby is however you define it. If you are feeling the overwhelm of trying to support a baby with a lot of needs, you are in the right place, and we can define the term however it makes sense for you.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I am currently an out-of-network provider. However, I can provide superbills for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement if you have out-of-network mental health benefits. This is something we can discuss more in depth during your free consultation call, but if you would like to inquire with your insurance company about your benefits before our call, you may want to ask about coverage for the following CPT codes:
90791 - Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation
90834 - Psychotherapy
Additionally, since all sessions will be conducted virtually, you may want to ask if there are any specific limitations or parameters to out-of-network benefits for telehealth care.
What are your rates? How long are sessions?
My rate is $225 per session. The majority of sessions will be 45-minutes long, with the exceptions being the first (intake) session (which will be closer to 60 minutes) or other special occasions where you and I both agree that either a longer or shorter session is appropriate.
Do you have any sliding scale spots?
Yes, I have a limited number of sliding scale spots available. Please inquire for more information!
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, I ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. I give each client one “freebie” per calendar year, where you can late-cancel without penalty. Beyond that, you will be responsible for paying the full fee for the session if you do not cancel with 24 hours notice.
* I understand that emergencies arise, and these situations will be discussed on a case by case basis!
Do you go to therapy?
I do! To quote fellow psychotherapist Lori Gottlieb - “Of all my credentials as a therapist, my most significant is that I’m a card-carrying member of the human race.”
